At seven years old, Abeeha rebelled by embracing tradition. She surprised her family by choosing to wear the hijab, and despite some push-back, has done so ever since. An outstanding student, she completed the Governor’s Honors Program, was named a National AP Scholar, and won 1st Place at the Gwinnett Science and Engineering Innovation Fair. Abeeha attended Dartmouth Bound, a program for highly qualified high school seniors from historically underrepresented backgrounds to preview college. She volunteers at Emory Hospital and as a Red Cross volunteer educates the Muslim community on the importance of blood donation. She plans on an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and then on to medical school. As a practicing physician, Abeeha hopes to bring adequate medical to underserved parts of the world..
