Imam Cavit Agu is a certified professional Chaplain with specialization in mental health at the Atlanta VA Health Care System, where he brings spiritual services and support to the healthcare staff. He has served as the Executive Director and Imam of the Southeast Islamic Community Center for over a decade, offering guidance and education to elementary through college-age students within the community.

My name is Safa Delery. I am 36 years old Muslim with a background from Afghanistan. I am a cancer survivor, mom of two beautiful boys, and I have a wonderful and supportive husband who I love and adore. My day-to-day job is to help refugees resettle in Georgia and help navigate their lives through the American system and become self-sufficient. My family is my strength and support for me to be able to help others, and I believe strongly that we are all capable of doing anything we set our mind to do long as we have Will and Faith.

Shafaq Mayet is a seasoned Project Management Professional with over 20 years of experience in Clinical Research and Drug Development. Her expertise lies in executing clinical trials to bring life-saving drugs to people in the area of Oncology and Endocrine and Metabolic disorders. With a strong educational background in Computer Science and an MBA in International Business, Shafaq combines technical acumen with strategic thinking to lead her teams.

Lubna Merchant has been a valued community member for 23 years, living in Alpharetta with her husband and two sons. Lubna brings a wealth of experience from her roles at Reuters, AT&T, and Amana Academy. She has worked in fundraising, operations, programming, marketing, and event planning for the Roswell Community Masjid for over seven years. Now, she is leveraging her expertise in operations, planning, marketing, and event execution at the One Ummah Project, where her skills will be a significant asset.

My Name is Doonya Mereby. I am currently a nurse at Emory University in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit. Alongside my nursing career, I am also pursuing my Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Emory. I am thrilled about the opportunity to join the ISB cohort and engage in impactful experiences ahead!

Aasiyah Tiffany Raheem is an experienced educator with a decade of achievements in various educational roles. Specializing in special education, Aasiyah champions the creation of more inclusive environments. Beyond the classroom, She holds a pivotal leadership role in the Executive Team at Marhama Wellness and volunteers at TOA, a women-led space for cultivating sisterhood and self-awareness.

Kareem Rosshandler is Assistant Principal at Dar Un Noor School. He is also working towards his PhD at Emory University, in the fields of Islamic Studies and Comparative Religions. Prior to his teaching career, he served as a researcher and project manager at the West Asia-North Africa Institute in Amman, Jordan. His focus areas included human security, international trade, and refugee inclusion.

Arshia Shah is the ISBLI Administrator and a member of the Planning Team. She also runs an alternative health business, providing holistic healing services. Licensed as an attorney in New York, Arshia has worked to protect civil rights and empower immigrants. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, expanding her knowledge of the Islamic sciences, and writing faith-based children’s stories, with two published works to her name.
